EVANGELISM IN ACTION
Furtherance Ministries began in the fall of 1998, but was officially incorporated as a charitable organization with the Government of Canada in 1999. The name is based upon Philippians 1:12 “But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel.” The translated word for furtherance means progress, profit, and advancement. It has the idea of engineers opening the means for the fighting troops to advance on the enemy. The gospel is to be furthered and advanced at home, but also into areas where people have not heard the gospel.
To assist in the furtherance of the gospel, the ministry has a Board of Directors who are committed Christian men with a burdened for a lost world. It has been our joy to see people saved on a consistent basis. We do not simply teach evangelism, we do evangelism. Founder and Evangelist Ed Sealy has traveled the globe preaching the gospel. We believe that personal evangelism by all believers is the most effective way to share the gospel message. Therefore, Furtherance also seeks to help believers effectively share their faith. We teach seminars and share ideas with the body of Christ on how they can share their faith with others. In the early stages, the ministry was largely used in local churches through various venues. God blessed with many souls saved. We are excited that we have expanded our local ministries to International Missions, as well.
Furtherance has worked throughout its entire existence amongst the precious Cree people in Quebec and Ontario in the Northern part of Canada. Furtherance has worked with the Cree people to see a Bible Camp established for children. Evangelist Ed Sealy and various teams spent their summers there. Special meetings and training have been provided for the Cree churches.

Bosnia Hockey Program
Furtherance has made two treks into Bosnia to help the churches there. Assisting and encouraging Missionary Brad Collins as he began a hockey program for young people roaming the streets with no place to go, no future and no purpose. Also, to encourage Pastors and families. As well, had the opportunity to purchase a used vehicle for one of the Pastor’s.

Building Churches in Malawi
Furtherance has been working with an African Church planter. He has been used of the Lord to plant 10 churches. Furtherance Ministries has helped to be involved in the recent church plants. The tenth church has been built with Furtherance purchasing the land and providing the building materials. A well was drilled in March 2024 to provide for the community’s water needs.
Furtherance has helped the people to plant crops, start two preschools and feeding programs, begun a ladies sowing ministry, started chicken coops to raise chickens for their own food and income, provided training to Pastors, as well as Bibles and training materials. A car, iPhone, laptop and laser printer has been provided by Furtherance Ministries for the church planter.
In 2023, Ed Sealy and Paul Moses made their first mission’s trip to Malawi, where they had the opportunity to share the gospel and see over 500 souls come to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour. They returned again in August of 2024. During their trip, they conducted Pastoral Training, Children's Program, dedicated the 10th church building to the Lord, dedicated a four-acre piece of land and well which has been turned into a farm that is producing crops for food and is now known as the Ruby Morrisey Farm. Approximately 150 decisions were made for the Lord.
